‘Yesterday I was killed’ – Facebook post blasts victim-blaming of murdered female backpackers – London Telegraph

A Facebook post written from the perspective of two murdered South American female backpackers has gone viral. The open letter was penned by Paraguayan student Guadalupe Acosta, in response to the victim blaming surrounding the case. Following the murders of two Argentine tourists, María Coni, 22, and Marina Menegazzo, 21, in Ecuador, some online commenters questioned whether the backpackers had brought the crime upon themselves through their actions.
