The Am Law Litigation Daily – Judge Kaplan Shows Little Deference for Documentary Filmmaker Who Chronicled Lago Agrio Dispute

In the latest wrinkle in the never-ending suit against Chevron for environmental contamination in Ecuador, Chevron is demanding 600 hours of raw footage from a filmmaker whose outtakes allegedly show collusion between plaintiffs lawyers and purportedly neutral Ecuadorian experts. The filmmaker’s lawyer says he deserves journalistic protection. Judge Kaplan doesn’t seem to think so.
