The president of Colombia, Iván Duque, and the president of Ecuador, Guillermo Lasso, inaugurated this Saturday, August 14, the road corridor over the Mataje River, which will allow better communication between the two countries. This work begins in the Espriella sector, which is part of the Colombian municipality of Tumaco, in the department of Nariño, and reaches the Mataje international bridge, on the border with Ecuador.

In the company of President @LassoGuillermo, today we delivered the new bi-national corridor Espriella – Mataje River in Tumaco, Nariño, a project that connects our country with Ecuador ” , President Iván Duque published on his social networks.
According to the statements of the Colombian president, the road not only improves the connection between Tumaco (Nariño) and the city of Esmeraldas, capital of the Ecuadorian province of the same name, but it is also a way to eliminate drug trafficking between the countries.
