The President of the Republic Lenin Moreno denied having accounts or offshore companies on his behalf, relatives, friends or acquaintances and denied the purchase of an apartment in Europe, in his message to the nation on the night of Tuesday, February 26, 2019, after the rumors that circulated in social networks in recent days.
In a broadcast, he indirectly pointed out former President Rafael Correa to be the one behind the accusations. “I’m Lenin Moreno and this is my sworn statement: these are my bank accounts and this is my certificate of not having offshore accounts,” he said, as he showed the documents.
