The public company Petroamazonas , which operated independently between April 2010 and December 2020, will function as one more management of Petroecuador.
Petroamazonas will operate as Exploration and Production Management. From this instance, the exploration and production of oil fields will continue. On average, the blocks in charge of the state-owned company are contributing 412,097 barrels per day. This represents 80% of all national production, according to the report of last January 3 published by the Agency for the Regulation and Control of Energy and Non-Renewable Natural Resources. The remainder – 101,467 barrels – comes from private companies that are in charge of operating other fields.
