The Trans-Ecuadorian Pipeline System (SOTE) paralyzed its operations due to the work carried out after the last landslide registered in an Amazonian and highly seismic region of Ecuador.
The public company Petroecuador said in a statement that the SOTE paralyzed its activity due to the work of connecting variants, which are built preventively, after the erosion in San Rafael, a place where until the beginning of last year there was a waterfall of the same name. , disappeared precisely because of that geological process.
According to the planned schedule for the construction of two additional variants of the System, the activity of the pipeline will be paralyzed for about 48 hours and the restart of operations is expected next Friday.
