The politician Fernando Balda presented this December 19, 2018 a second petition to urge the Ecuadorian Justice to continue insisting on Interpol and execute the arrest of former President Rafael Correa for alleged involvement in his kidnapping in 2012. After months of waiting, Ecuador’s first request for Interpol to issue a red alert against Correa, a fugitive from Ecuadorian justice after failing to appear in Quito, was denied on December 5.
