Lenín Moreno decrees state of exception in Ecuador and ratifies economic measures- Ecuador Times

President Lenín Moreno decreed this noon the state of emergency in Ecuador to allow free mobility of citizens before protests generated by carriers.

With this decision, the government can take the military to the streets to avoid excesses. Moreno reiterated that there is openness to dialogue, but that it will not allow chaos, because the groups that create pockets of violence are perfectly identified as they intend to destabilize the government.

The measures remain firm. There is not the slightest possibility of changing those measures related to that perverse subsidy that caused damage to the country. It is not possible to remain in this distortion that caused a serious deterioration to the national economy, the president said.
