Ecuador after the Referendum – La Prensa Latina

What will happen in Ecuador after the popular consultation and referendum recently approved by the majority to reform the Constitution? It is a recurrent question today by local citizens. In the voting, held on February 4, 67 percent of citizens favored the proposals promoted by President Lenin Moreno, contained in seven questions, while 33 percent rejected them. The battle was waged between Moreno’s supporters (State ministers and 36 political parties) and the followers of former President Rafael Correa, who founded his own party, the Citizen’s Revolution, after a mass withdrawal of members from the ruling Alianza PAIS Movement.
