Ecuador received an economic incentive as financing for environmental care projects. President Lenín Moreno reported on the afternoon of this Sunday, September 27, that the Green Climate Fund provided 18.5 million dollars to invest in environmental initiatives.
Through his Twitter account, the President noted that the country becomes the second in the world to receive international non-reimbursable financing to continue with projects dedicated to environmental conservation.
The Fund for the disbursement of this item is part of the United Nations Macro Convention on Climate Change . Its objective is to help developing nations to generate actions that mitigate environmental impact. Funding comes directly from the REDD + Payment for Results Pilot Program.
