The Court of Judgment of the Bribery case 2012-2016 denied the requests for clarification and extension of the sentence made by former President Rafael Correa, the former Minister of Transport and Senagua head, Walter Solís, and businessman Pedro Verduga.
On April 26, the three were sentenced to eight years in prison for the crime of aggravated passive bribery of their own.
Correa was charged as a mediated author at instigation; Solís as co-author; and Verduga as direct author.
Another 15 defendants were also sentenced to the same number of years.
Pamela Martínez and Laura Terán had their sentences reduced for cooperating with the State Attorney General’s Office.
