President Rafael Correa knew his brother was receiving contracts from the state, according to a report by the nation’s Citizen Participation Council, a government watchdog, EcuadorInmediato said.
Correa’s brother Fabricio received about $700 million in government contracts, under which he overcharged the state about $140 million, the Quito-based newspaper said today, citing Carlos Polit, the nation’s comptroller. The newspaper didn’t say when Fabricio was awarded the contracts.
