“On Aug. 21, The New York Times reported that Russia will help Ecuador develop a nuclear energy program for peaceful purposes. Ecuador’s government said Thursday that the two countries had established a new energy cooperation agreement. The ministry of electricity and renewable energy said the Russian State Atomic Energy Corporation, or Rosatom, would provide “support and assistance” to Ecuador.”
